We are a new and unique Bed and Breakfast serving the Banff/Canmore area in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

The Ballyrock takes its name from the term bally, meaning place, and the majestic Rocky Mountains (rocks) that surround us. It is Jennie and Roger and our family's mountain "place".  Ballyrock is also the  townland in Ireland where her father was raised. The decor creates an elegant mix of city and country living.  The furnishings and accessories have been accumulated during our travels throughout North America over five decades.  They reflect Jennie's Irish roots and unique style and tell the story of our lives together.

Our goal is to provide our guests with the comforts of home, as they experience the Canadian Rockies and the many interesting activities and attractions available in Banff National Park, Kananaskis Country and the Bow Valley.  While staying in one of our two attractive bedroom suites, guests are encouraged to freely explore and enjoy the common areas of our home.  We want you to enjoy it as much as we do.  Roger is your host and will do his best to provide a wholesome breakfast and help you to enjoy your visit to this spectacular corner of the world.

Walk to downtown Canmore shops and restaurants

The Ballyrock is located in a quiet residential area within walking distance of downtown Canmore.  Guests can walk through the woods or take a short drive to the Canmore Nordic Centre, Quarry Lake, Millennial Park and other local venues.  We are five minutes from  a stop on the Roam bus network serving Canmore and Banff and about 2 km from the Legacy bike trail to Banff

Bambi, our little deer, was born at in the forest at Ballyrock

Our property backs onto a municipal reserve which is a wildlife corridor,  The "garden room" projects us into the garden and the woods behind where deer pass through almost daily.  We seem to have a family of deer nearby with a couple of fawns born each year. A herd of elk pass through the neighborhood from time to time and every now and then a bear or two.  Birds and squirrels are constant companions.
